The Gothenburg primary school administration is one of the largest school administrations in Sweden. We are responsible for the city's municipal schools from preschool to grade nine, adapted primary school, cultural school, and after-school programs. The administration has 138 municipal primary schools where nearly 47,000 students attend school every day. The entire administration has about 9,700 employees who work together to develop and care for the operation - together we pave the way for the school of the future.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Herrgårdsskolan is a K-6 school. We work in teams and value collaboration between our various operations; school, after-school care, and preschool. The school places great emphasis on relationships and actively works to create and maintain good relationships with those we serve, as good, secure relationships are a prerequisite for students' learning. The staff group has a good working climate and consists of both younger and more experienced educators. We choose to see opportunities and believe that the desire to learn exists in everyone, and our mission is to preserve and promote it. Starting from strengths and abilities is the foundation of our work, and we meet our students who need it with a low-arousal approach.

Your role at the school is as a special educator. You will work at the organizational, group, and individual levels with promoting, preventive, and to some extent remedial work.

In your role as a special educator, you will conduct assessments of students' strengths and needs and plan interventions, as well as suggest appropriate strategies, methods, and tools. You will guide teachers and other staff in their daily work with students in need of support and conduct classroom observations. You are responsible for ensuring that, for example, educational assessments and action plans are developed in collaboration with mentors. As a special educator, you are an important resource in the work of follow-up, evaluation, and developing our routines and structures. You work systematically for improved goal fulfillment and have a documentation responsibility where we use the PMO system. You will have an overarching responsibility for students who do not meet the knowledge requirements and monitor what support these students receive. Your role also includes contacts with guardians and external actors.

In your role as a special educator, you also work directly with children in need of special support, both at the individual and group levels. You conduct some tests at the school level and work both preventively and remedially. You plan, implement, and evaluate the work around the support. You actively work with the staff to create an accessible learning environment for the children.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the job as a special educator, we see that you have a special educator degree with a primary school teacher education. You are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and can work independently and in teams where you have a guiding role towards educators.

Experience in guidance, investigation, and assessment is meritorious.

You have a good ability to communicate with guardians. You have the ability to see students' different needs and can also spread this knowledge within the team. You need to have very good collaboration skills, be flexible, and communicative. You are secure in your role and have a good ability to create relationships with both children and adults.

You are fearless and have the ability to stand by your well-considered opinions towards students, guardians, and colleagues. You see obstacles, problems, and challenges as a natural part of everyday life that you solve individually or together with others. You enjoy working both independently and in teams. You have solid knowledge and can easily apply it in practice. We place great emphasis on your previous experiences and personal suitability according to the qualifications and characteristics described above.
